This Month's Book: Paul Ekman's Telling Lies
The man who inspired the FOX show Lie To Me, Paul Ekman is known worldwide as an expert in emotions and nonverbal communication. He is a master of understanding facial expressions, but also has led the science on microexpressions too. Don't know what a microexpression is? Read this article by Ekman himself and find out. In Telling Lies, Ekman explores the who/what/when/where/why of lying, and more importantly to the reader, how to detect when liars are lying. If you're dating, if you have kids, if you engage in business, and/or if you like to be able to tell when anyone, from a shopkeep to a politician, is lying to you, this is book is a must read, and it is why it is our first book for the BTG&nowhining Book Club to read and discuss.
